Tips On How To Stop Snoring

Many people are struggling with snoring. It can really affect our lives in the most negative ways. You can read a story of a man who tells you how to stop snoring. Below are some some tips on what choices you can make to stop snoring.

Change Your Sleep Position

Number one reason of snoring is sleeping on your back which makes the base of your tongue and soft pallate collapse to the back wall of your throat. This is what causes the vibrating sound we call snoring. You might want to sleep on your side instead of back to prevent this.

Lose Weight

Usually overweight people tend to snore more often than people who have a normal body mass index. If you have recently gained weight and started snoring, your best bet is to lose some of that weight. The extra weight in your neck is pushing your throat which causes snoring.

Avoid Alcohol and Cigarettes

Alcohol and cigarettes can make your snoring worse, so you might not want to drink more than 2 drinks before going to sleep.

Open Nasal Passages

If you are snoring through your nose, keeping you nasal passaes open could help stop snoring. It allows the air to move slower. If your nasal passages are narrow, the air is moving too fast causing snoring. One way to open your nasal passages is to take a hot shower before going to bed.

Stay Hydrated

Drink a lot of water during the day. Water keeps the inside of your nose less stickier, which makes the oxygen flow with less effort.

Change Your Pillow

Your regular pillow might place your body in an uncomfortable position which can be a major cause of snoring. Try changing your pillow to a more comfortable anti-snore pillow.
